Water for 65,000 people in Benin !

Image

Today, thanks to the daily work of the Emmaus communities, the people of Lake Nokoué in Benin are moving towards a fundamental right: the right to water.

This project is founded on a solidarity alliance between the disadvantaged population in the north and the poor population in the south. Our world needs this alliance!

The poor helping the poor: another kind of solidarity!

This project is financed by the work of the Emmaus companions, whilst most international solidarity projects rely on donations and subsidies. This gives a unique nature to this action. What a wonderful example of solidarity!

A project by and for the people of the lake

It is the people themselves who have laid out the priorities and funds required for access to drinking water. It is therefore a proposal coming directly from the grassroots and communicated to the international Movment as a whole. The choices are therefore made taking into account the reality on the ground, meaning the project will be sustainable.
