EMMAUS IASI

Emmaus Iasi aims to do what all Emmaus groups aspire to welcome people who need it, with respect and dignity, in order to help them reach independence. People at the community mainly come from the region’s orphanages. The community offers two types of assistance: meeting basic needs (food, hygiene, accommodation) and providing support, the aim being for the people at the community to learn a trade.

To reach this aim, the Emmaus community Iasi is involved in a variety of projects and initiatives providing socio-professional support, education, training, help with leaning social skills and helping people reach independence. The community is involved in helping homeless people in the city of Iasi. It also has two shops selling reclaimed furniture as well as a carpentry workshop, which is used to teach young people a trade. Furniture made in the workshop is also sold in the shop.
