EMMAUS TREVISO

Organisation set up in 2008 and member of Emmaus International since 2013.

Emmaus Treviso, which only become part of Emmaus International recently (in April 2013, with Catanzaro), was created following a youth work camp held in 2006. Following this camp, a group of people approached Emmaus Ferrara, asking them to help them take their first steps towards becoming an Emmaus community. Today, Emmaus Treviso's 15 companions, with the support of 15 volunteers, do traditional Emmaus community work: collecting, sorting, repairing and reselling goods at low prices in their 2 second-hand shops (in Cornuda and in Treviso). Since May 2009, the community has been based in Crocetta del Montello, 30km from Treviso. Finally, Emmaus Treviso also recycles materials such as iron, cardboard and scrap metal.
