The “Farm of Abbé Pierre”, Marseille

Monday 17th October, Marseille: today Emmaus Pointe Rouge celebrated the opening of the “Farm of
Abbé Pierre”. The newly renovated farm buildings will provide 10 new homes for the community, including 2 reserved for families of refugees from war zones.

The people of Marseille were invited to the inauguration so  they could gain an understanding of the reality of migration, and to show that we can welcome these people who are suffering because of the violation of their rights.

As Emmaus Pointe Rouge reminds us, “Our Movement was born from the coming together of those who’d  recognised their privileged position and their social responsibilities in the face of injustice, and those who no longer had a reason for living. They decided to work together with a common will to help each other and to come to the aid of those in distress.”
